Please note, allot of these I have just thrown on as soon as I have got home, desperate to see what it looks like. I'm sure you all understand!
This one was a fantastic purchase from ebay used. I wore it at the mela and was overloaded with complements It was my favorite until my "Black" silk saree turned up in the post
This is my super bargain £5 silk saree (I think) from ebay arrived yesterday. By the photos I thought it was black however its green and gold and I love it. This I hope to wear to work on Friday for Diwali.
This is my new white saree, brought just to see what the colour looks like on me...What do you think? Its not a great photo but hope to get some in the day light soon
This is the Purple and Gold two tone that I was a bit upset about, you can tell that it must be made of plastic by the way is shines and sticks out! Bit upset with this one but a bit of work I'm sure I can make it sit right!
This is my only lengha brought in London for far too much money. I wore this to Navratri and I'm glad I did rather than a saree. The amount of times I trod on it, if it had been a saree it would be on the floor
you are right. Green and gold looks very pretty.Suits you.
ReplyDeleteThank you
ReplyDeleteI love that saree, it is the most comfortable one I own so soft and silky I can’t wait to wear it all day! Im still looking for a cotton one, I may have to ask you to choose one for me maybe in the summer!
I will love to do that. I told you about the site. Plz visit it.
ReplyDeleteThey all look beautiful! I don't think I could pick a favorite! The white looks wonderful on you and I particularly like the green and gold.
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your blog and am glad you gave us all a preview of said sarees (I'm not sure if plural is saris?) The white one is absolutely stunning. Colourwise I also rather like the purple and gold two tone. It suits your skin tone and don't you think it would look really well with amethyst jewellery? But the green and gold bargain basement one is really, really nice. And silk too! PS I am totally ignorant - What is a lengha?
ReplyDeleteA Lengha is basically a very long skirt worn with a top, different styles depending on cultures/religions etc.. I love them!! I know a lot of bengali girls who wore them for wedding days, henna parties etc etc.. I cant wait to find one.. I love long skirts, I love the long skirts I always see the Somalian ladies walking around in. Just want to stop them and ask them where they get them from ;)
ReplyDeleteAs Ammena states a Lehenga or Lengha Choli is a full-length skirt often heavily decorated with a blouse and a matching Dupatta (shawl). They are one of the many garments a bride traditionally wears on her wedding day in some parts of India and Wemberly these Lengha’s tend to have a fish tail rather than a flared skirt. They are also worn at events like Navratri for more ease of use and they look wonderful during the twits and turns of the dance. My friend showed me her wedding Lengha and it almost weighed more than her!
ReplyDeleteHappy Dhanteras to you and your family

Thank you for uour kind coments. I was shown how to wear a saree in a shop where I brought my first one from and I have been practicing ever since. I'm quite happy with the nivi style of wearing a saree but I am soon to work on the other ways of wearing them. There will be some more photos soon! Thanks again.

ReplyDeleteAre you serious? What are you doing on the internet because if sarees are only for Indian people then technology should only be for White people. Get a hold of yourself and stop discriminating. Build bridges not walls.

I'm truly saddened that I have caused both you and your wife offence. I would like to know more about how and why my passion for wearing a saree upsets you do much. I apologise for the length of time it has taken me to respond to your comment. If you fully understand my blog then you may understand my delay in response.
You look GORGEOUS in the white! So pretty. I'm getting my first saree soon for my engagement and I hope I look as pretty as you do! So worried about getting the right colour for me and everything. Eeek!
