I think a saree day could be started small, say set a day like the first day of Diwali 2011 and anyone who wants to do it can join in and wear one and then post the picture on the net. If more people did it it could be a opportunity for strengthening intercultural relations, drawing attention to diwali and Indian heritage.People who do it could pay a small sum of money that could be donated to an Indian charity.
